Other electricians that are working in industrial companies, large or small, would need to repair transformers, controls, generators and automated robots existing inside of the factories or workplace. In commercial buildings like an office, electricians would be required to repair many different types of electronic equipments, such as the air conditioner or the lightings.
A maintenance electrician would spent his time largely on preventive maintenance. He would have to check equipment from time to time and locate the problems and repair them before they break down. Electricians are also required to advise the staff whenever the equipment they are using become hazardous to use and seek approval to install newer and better equipment for the company.
If there is a breakdown, electricians must be able to repair the broken down equipment quickly to minimize any loss in production to the company's profits. There are also maintenance calls to countryside areas to change a broken fuse or reconnect loose wires. Such cases would take up more than an hour just in driving to the location and troubleshooting must be done to rectify the problems and prevent them from ever happening again.
